Starting from August 22, 2014, Passport Copies and Some Other Documents May Be Apostilled Too

We would like to inform that on August 22, 2014 a joint order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science and Ministry of Justice of Ukraine of 13.08.2014 No. 341/934/1335/5 “On Amendments to the Rules of Apostillization of Official Documents Designated for Use in the Territory of Other Countries” came into effect.

This order was developed due to requirements of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering in order to protect the constitutional rights of legal entities and natural persons.

According to this order, the list of documents eligible for apostillization was extended. These are notarized copies of the following documents:

  • passport;
  • military service card;
  • work record book;
  • authorization to possess weapons;
  • vehicle registration certificate;
  • ID.
